Our vision, Our Projects

Chattown Press is the parent to multiple publishing projects.

Chattown Chatta began in my imagination as I was reading “Chattanooga Chatter,” a high gloss publication featuring local people that are usually of a much higher income level and social status than me. I asked myself, “Where are MY people?” I immediately imagined a magazine featuring the “other” people of Chattanooga. The future of this project is still uncharted, but the primary guiding value is providing a space for the rest of us.

Our Homeless: Launch project is a collection of interviews with Chattanooga’s homeless population, “Chattown People: Our Homeless.” These interviews provide a space for the homeless to speak for themselves in their own words, and provide a way for the people of Chattanooga to get to know those people that they see on the streets.

Who We Are:

Mark J Anderson, editor, arrived in Chattanooga in the summer of 2015 while on a long road trip drifting around the country, prayerfully seeking a new place to do life. A former client invited me to visit and I fell in love with the city the day I arrived so moved here a few months later in the spring of 2016. I found in this city a warm welcoming creative community and found more opportunities here than were ever imaginable in Salt Lake City where I grew up. Chattanooga has a disproportionately large creative community for its size, and I fell right into the middle of it!
